Real Madrid has announced new captains for the 2025-26 season.
Real Madrid has announced a new captaincy for the upcoming football season following the exits of Luka Modric and Lucas Vázquez. Dani Carvajal has been appointed as the captain, having served as Modric's deputy last season. Supporting him in leadership roles are vice-captains Federico Valverde, Thibaut Courtois, and Vinicius Junior. Valverde, who was part of the team leaders during the 2024-25 season, notably stepped up to lead the squad during Carvajal's absence due to a long-term injury. Courtois, renowned as one of the world's most experienced goalkeepers, also brings invaluable leadership to the team. Adding to this mix is Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian international who has made a significant impact since joining the team. This announcement was made by team officials in collaboration with Xabi Alonso, the new head coach of the Spanish side.
